[Shaun looks pale and trembling, and his eyes are wide and scared. He looks - and sounds, when he finally speaks - like he's been crying. All he can manage are four short words, before his voice cracks and it's all he can do not to break down.]

[He holds up his hands, laughing.]

I don't know, sorry. Only one I've ever met is Sandy, and... uh, I try not to ask too many questions. [Because seriously, who can understand him half the time? Not that Jack doesn't try, but... Well, an abstract concept like 'home' might be a bit much for a conversation.]

Sandy? That's a girl's name!

Well, what else are you gonna call the Sandman?

...Mr. Sandman? You mean there's a whole planet full of Sandmans?

Are there Sandwomans too?

You know... I have no idea. [Honestly, he really has no idea what Sandy is or who he used to be, but 'alien' is as likely as anything, knowing Manny. He definitely isn't human, unlike North, for instance. And it makes an entertaining story.]

He doesn't really talk, but why not? Maybe it's a whole planet where no one has anything but good dreams.

[Shaun mulls that over for a minute, and then smiles sadly.]

You know... Earth is okay, and the Pokemon world is awesome. But I wouldn't mind living on a planet full of good dreams, either.

[Hey, now, no sad. They're way past sad.]

Me, either. Maybe if he ever shows up here, we'll get him to tell us about it.

Do you have any of your other friends here? You know, people from your world?

Mmhm. [He nods.] Two of them. Bunny and Tooth. They're still back in Cherrygrove, I think.

[Wait a minute...]

The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are real?

[Now he's getting the hang of it.]

[Color Jack just the proudest big brother in history right now, yup.]

Sure are. Not that they look it right now.

[Excuse him while he snickers a bit as he remembers.]

[Next you'll be telling him Santa's real too.]

What do you mean? You mean like how the aliens all look like humans?

[That is the next point on the agenda.]

Well, yeah. I mean, you'd notice a six-foot, talking bunny rabbit wandering around, right?

[No wai]

Yeah, I guess that'd be pretty silly.

He'd also probably have a hard time getting his pokemon to listen to him.

That's what I keep telling him.

[Just... not always here. He's been making the 'giant rabbits look silly' argument almost as long as he's known Bunny.]

Does he really go by Bunny?

[Gosh what is it with these mythical figures and having girls names?]

[Jack will make sure Shaun got a chance to ask Bunny that directly if it kills him, oh yes, he will.]

Yup. E. Aster Bunnymund. [His voice takes on just the barest hint of Bunny's Australian accent as he tries to mimic it.] Bunny's the best way to shorten it.

[Jack don't get your new little brother's rear end kicked by a gigantic Australian no-longer-rabbit. Because like a good little brother he will foist all of the blame off on YOU.]

...What's the E stand for?

[All the blame will be on him, anyway. Bunny knows him too well for anything else.]

You should ask him sometime. He won't tell me stuff like that.

How will I know what he looks like? You know, since he's not a giant rabbit anymore.

Well, he sounds Australian, and he's still a pretty big guy with funny-looking tattoos, but if you don't meet him before I catch up with them again, I'll introduce you to Bunny and Tooth personally. How's that?

Okay, that sounds good.

You promise you won't leave the city without saying goodbye to me?

'Course I won't. Why would I want to do that?

I dunno. But you promised, so don't forget, alright?

[It's impossible to actually pinky swear over a small video screen, but he holds up his hand, anyway, pinky finger out. It's still totally binding.]
