Video/Action for Violet City
[Shaun looks pale and trembling, and his eyes are wide and scared. He looks - and sounds, when he finally speaks - like he's been crying. All he can manage are four short words, before his voice cracks and it's all he can do not to break down.]
Norman won't wake up.
Norman won't wake up.
Video
We'll talk about him when I get there. Just keep your chin up, okay?
Video
At least when it was his dad, his mom was still there.]
Room 206.
[When she gets there, Shaun's Floatzel is going to let her into the room, because Shaun is half-sitting half-lying on the bed with his head against Norman's chest, face buried in the agent's shirt, completely breaking apart at the seams. Both Norman's team and his own are standing aside nervously, like they have no idea what to do with the little boy clinging to Norman's unconscious form.]
Video
Shaun...
Video
I don't know what's wrong with him...
Video
I... I don't know either, but. You just have to keep hoping he'll be okay.
Video
He's alive... It's like he's sleeping, but he won't wake up.
I think it's called a coma.
Video
I know what it feels like for someone not to wake up.
[There isn't much more to say on the matter, so she just gives him a big squeeze and keeps hugging him.]
Video
I do too.
[Both temporarily via coma and more permanently via death. And it was the same person both times.]
Video
It's going to be okay, Shaun. I'm here and we'll do this together. [She rubs at his back, still squeezing pretty tight.]
this is totally action by now oops
Thanks.
What are we gonna do?
No Emily just turned into Samara and is hugging him through the screen tbh
You're welcome. And... And I'm not sure! But... Um. I went shopping earlier. Would you like a present?
Psht totally
...Should we take him to a hospital?
Um- did you really get me a present?
perma action from here on out yo
[Emily shrugs though, and pulls away and slides off the bed, moving over to bend down to look in her shopping bags.]
It wasn't supposed to be for you, but I would rather you have it.
[She stands back up, and when she turns around, she's holding a Munna pokedoll. She steps back over and holds it out to him.]
The woman in the store told me it's like... a dream catcher. That it will help get rid of bad dreams. I'm not sure if you need anything like that, but... Well. [We have enough in common that it's a safe assumption, basically.] I hope you like it?
no subject
He takes the doll in surprise and looks from it back to Emily in surprise. Then he smiles a little, gratefully, and gives the doll a squeeze.]
Thanks, Emily. I'm sure it'll work really well!
[Cause presents from friends that are supposed to make you feel better usually do!]
no subject
You're welcome! I hope so.
[It has, at the very least, done it's part in distracting him from his sadness over Norman.]
no subject
He looks down at it and squeezes its stubby legs, settling it in his lap.]
I'll buy you one later, and then we'll be even, okay?
no subject
[She gives him a small smile and then sits back down next to him, sighing quietly.]
So... I was thinking maybe we could ask Mr. Lieutenant Blake what to do. He's old, he would know what to do.
no subject
well and they stay breathingbecause all semblance of color just ran screaming from Shaun's face, and he looks like he's about to do the same.]
No, we can't ask him!
no subject
Why not?
no subject
[There's an adamant tone to the boy's voice - the unwavering resolve of a kid passing judgment, who believes he'll know how a situation will end.
It's also the tone of a boy near-panicking, and his fingers tighten in the plush doll he's holding.]
no subject
No he won't! He's a good person, don't be silly, Shaun.
no subject
[Oh dear now he's panicking. And if there was any more proof needed that Norman wasn't just sleeping, the fact that he's sleeping through Shaun yelling is pretty clear proof.]
And if we call him, he'll hurt Norman, too!
