How many people here are artists? Like the drawer kind specially but if you make other stuff that counts too.
If you draw what do you draw? Are you good at it?
I want to know how to get better at drawing.

[Once they hear art talk, Neku's Smeargle, plural Smeargle, all pile on camera to see as well. The two adults, and the puppy all wanting to give their input]
I hated hearing this when I first started, but honestly? Practice.
[text]
I have been practicing but I don't know if I'm getting any better.
I guess I'm not practicing I'm just drawing a lot. Sometimes. When I'm not training.
Well yeah, you're not gonna see a difference yourself. It changes so slowly and a tiny bit at a time so it'll all look the same to you.
Think of... think of it like a yen jar. Or penny jar or fricken pokedollar jar, whatever. Small change is something people will throw away or lose and not care one bit. Cuz it's not WORTH anything.
But if you keep gathering them up eventually you get something a lot better. So even if you're drawing something that looks like crap, you gotta remember that it's a tiny part of something you'll eventually be proud of.

I want to get better at drawing buildings and stuff.
Have you been using perspective lines?

[When her gear beeps and she goes to look at it, she hadn't actually realized that Shaun had been typing to begin with, so she shoots him a look when she recognises his user ID.]
[And then returns to her drawing.]
Tell me if you get any good tips. I want to get better too.
[action]
He looks over at Molly sheepishly when she notices the message.]
K. What are you trying to get better at drawing?
[action]
Animals. So I can draw my pokémon better.
What about you?
[action]
I mean, animals too but...
[he trails off.]
[action]
What kind of buildings?
[action]
I... It's silly.
[action]
No, tell me.
[action]
...I promised a couple of my friends that I would build them a house someday. They went back home, but I still want to have something to show them. If they come back.
[action]
Oh.
[Cause even if it's not silly, it's kind of ... serious. And she hesitates for a moment before she approaches it, but she does anyway, just friendly.]
... what kind of house would you build?
[action]
What he doesn't expect is for her to ask.]
...A big one. They had a lot of pokemon that were almost all like fully-evolved, and they had a lot of friends, too.
[action]
Do you know which city you'd pick? Cause there are a few.
[text]
[He draws so little it barely really counts, but anyway.]
There isn't really anything specific I draw when I do. Is there something you're trying to get better at?
[text]
Maybe better at like buildings and stuff.

Your arm for example would be...cylinders, circles for joints, and small rectangles in places, I would guess.

My name is Shaun what's yours?

[As much as she didn't want to be a downer, she moved on.]
I did know someone that wanted to make art. He seemed really good at it, and drew everything he saw.

Last I saw him he sketched some weird stuff after we helped him.

a lot of it is observation. observation and practice! nothing comes of giving up halfway, after all!

You were an architect?

Can you teach me?

[... But if there's a genuine desire to learn, how can he say no, really?]
i'm not much of a teacher i'm afraid. but i might be able to offer you some pointers.

[Practice is fun and boring all at the same time.]

What are you looking to draw specifically? If you're looking to specialize in people or Pokemon, I'm sure there are books on anatomy that you can find that would be helpful in that regard. It's not as good as live subjects, but it's a good way to familiarize yourself with the basics.

[CHILD.]
I mean I'm not good at drawing people. But I really want to get good at drawing like buildings and stuff. Like an architect.
[text]
Ah, well, in that case, you'd really just want to pay attention to buildings when you see them, then. You really have to train yourself to look at fine details, or you'll never really get what you're drawing. Of course, you have to be careful not to miss the forest for the trees, as well.

so i figure if you draw like one thing every day at least, you'll start getting better at it

[While he isn't great with kids... kids interested in art? He can deal with that.]

I like to draw, too!
Garry said that you have to practice a lot....and not give up, even if you draw the same thing 500 times!
